I was blessed this week to be able to host the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast. We aren't officially part of the City of Augusta. Yet we are clearly part of the Augusta Community, and I’m happy to be. When we heard the Mayor was looking for Churches willing to host this event I was eager to volunteer. It's a great privilege to live in a community where The Mayor is unashamed of his Christian faith and boldly declares his commitment to prayer. That isn't true of most cities in America. We dare not take that for granted. If this nation has any hope of survival, given the monumental debt we face and the unbridled corruption that plagues our governing process, it will be through the power of God released by the prayers and faith of God's People. We need to pray for Mayor Copenhaver and his staff. We also need to pray for our city, our county, our state and our nation. It's not too late to see a mighty outpouring of God's Holy Spirit. But it will take place when God's People get serious about living our lives each day in submission to The Lordship of Jesus Christ! Are we willing? I was also delighted to be able to invite the community in to see our lovely Church facility. I'm afraid we're so used to coming here every week we no longer appreciate the great blessing we enjoy. Few Churches in our area are as blessed, and that is in addition to tremendous spirit of love and fellowship we enjoy. Several folks commented to me about the sweet spirit they felt here. Special thanks to the ladies and gentlemen who prepared the meal as well as those who decorated and cleaned up afterwards. You are a great blessing to me. May God Richly Bless You! Remember that 70% of Columbia County's residents are not actively involved in Church. I can’t think of a better one to invite them too. Can you? I love you and appreciate the opportunity to be your Pastor. God Bless You!

Dear Grace Family and Friends,
What an awesome week of revival! The preaching has been terrific! I
thank God for Brother Rick and his ministry to me. He is an “anointed
man of God!” Please pray for him as he begins a very busy schedule.
He needs much prayer to accomplish God’s Intended Mission. I’m
also grateful for the music this week. Special thanks to Brent, The
Choir, The Band, The Praise Team and each soloist! God used you
mightily in my life! God has confirmed to me His Intent that this is to
be the greatest year ever for Grace Baptist Church. We need simply
live each day in obedience to His Will. My question is, “Are we excited
to be part of a Church where God is working and His Presence is so
unmistakable?” Do we have a sense of “expectancy” every time we
come together because we anticipate a fresh encounter with The
Resurrected Christ? If not, our attitudes need to change. God desires
to glorify Himself in a mighty way right here! He wants this
community to know that He is the same God we read about in
Scripture. Nothing has changed with Him. What has changed is that
His people have grown accustomed to spiritual mediocrity. How that
must break His heart! Jesus didn’t die to give us mediocrity! Jesus
said, “I am come that you might have life, and…have it more
abundantly,” John 10:10. Abundant life, however, implies living by
faith. We must have such complete trust in God that we refuse to
allow our circumstances to distract us. That’s not to imply
circumstances aren’t real or that the “crisis” of life will not
overwhelm us. They certainly can! Yet “faith” enables us to face the
storms with a calm assurance, knowing our God is entirely sufficient
to carry us safely through any storm. Is that your attitude? That’s

Dear Grace Baptist Family and Friends,
I'm writing well in advance of today as Leila and I have been out of town for a few days. I can already say, however, that I'm looking forward to getting back to worship with you on this Labor Day Weekend. Few things in life are as enjoyable to me as worshipping with The Family of God here at Grace Baptist Church. God truly is doing an awesome work here and we dare not take that for granted. I hope you take the opportunity to visit other Churches when you are out of town. It'll give you a greater appreciation of what God is doing here. But finding "the best Church in town" isn't the mission. God has a place of service for every one of His Children. Believe it or not, everybody isn't supposed to be a member of Grace Baptist Church! God has people for every position in every Church. We need simply find our place of service and be faithful to it. As we do, we position ourselves for His Richest Blessing. Do we trust God enough to follow wherever He leads? Most will only go as far as it makes sense. If that is our standard we will never see the power of God manifested in miraculous ways. Paul declared, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,…, to Him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus to all generations," Ephesians 3:20-21. Are we expecting God to glorify Himself in our midst in ways that can only be explained by His Miracle Working Power? If so, there is no limit to what God will do in our fellowship. If not, we've misunderstood the reason we are here. I love you and am honored to be your Pastor. But I want to lead us to become all God intends! We just need to stay willing to walk by faith! That's a moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day proposition. But it's worth the sacrifice! God Bless You All.
